The America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver coin is composed of 99.9 percent silver.

The reverse design of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park (Guam) depicts American forces rushing onto the Asan Bay shore to support the troops who were already on the island fighting for Guam and its liberation. Inscriptions include: “WAR IN THE PACIFIC,” “GUAM,” 2019,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

Established in 1978, the War in the Pacific National Historical Park salutes the sacrifice and courage of all the U.S. Armed forces that fought in the Pacific Theater of World War II. At War in the Pacific National Historical Park, the former battlefields, gun emplacements, trenches, and historic structures all serve as reminders of key World War II battles. The park also conserves and interprets a variety of amazing resources found on Guam. Snorkeling, fishing, and exploring the coral reefs are among some of the favorite recreational activities enjoyed by visitors to the site. It is also the National Park that lies furthest to the West.

In addition to sweeping views of the landing beaches, Apra Harbor, and seaside villages, the Asan Bay Shore displays bronze sculptures depicting events that took place on Guam. The Memorial Wall of Names lists both the military personnel killed, as well as the local residents who either lost their lives or suffered during the Japanese occupation. Other memorials include the Marine Landing Memorial, the Liberator’s Memorial, and the Ga’an Point flag display.

As with all the other ATB Quarters, the obverse displays the John Flanagan’s portrait of George Washington that is found on circulating quarters.

The pair of obverse and reverse designs will also appear on a series of U.S. Mint bullion and collector 3-inch diameter, 5-ounce America the Beautiful silver coins.

The other 2019 quarters honor:

  • Lowell National Historical Park in Massachusetts
  • American Memorial Park in N Mariana Islands
  • San Antonio Missions Park in Texas
  • Frank Church – River Of No Return Park in Idaho

The America the Beautiful 5 oz. Silver Quarter Series began in 2010 to commemorate national parks, monuments, and historical sites. Five new coins are released each year. The 5 ounce silver bullion coins are enlargements of the same designs depicted on the quarters that are in normal circulation. One site has been selected from each state, the District of Columbia and each of the five U.S. Territories — for the combined 56 locations honored between 2010 and 2021.
