Every year, the Perth Mint design team creates original art for this series. Struck from 99.99% pure silver, the 2020 koala is released in 1 Kilo and 1 ounce sizes.
The reverse of each 2024 coin features koala hugging a eucalyptus tree, the primary food source of this beloved marsupial. Also on the reverse is “KOALA,” The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and 2024. The obverse shows the effigy of Charles III with the coin’s monetary denomination.
A security feature is included on each coin’s reverse side. A micro-laser engraved letter is included within the coin’s KOALA heading. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
