Every year, the Perth Mint design team creates original art for this series. Struck from 99.99% pure silver, the 2026 koala is released in 1 Kilo and 1 ounce sizes.
The reverse of each 2026 coin features koala chomping a eucalyptus stem, the primary food source of this beloved marsupial. Also on the reverse is “KOALA,” The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and 2026. The obverse shows the effigy of Charles III with the coin’s monetary denomination.
A security feature is included on each coin’s reverse side. A micro-laser engraved letter is included within the coin’s KOALA heading. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
