The Next Generation series of .9999 fine silver coins is minted by the Perth Mint and is struck in both 2 oz and 10 oz.

The coins’ reverse portrays an adult emu striding proudly with three chicks in an undulating landscape featuring native flora. Radial lines suggesting sunlight accompany the design, which also includes a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, and the year-date. The coins’ obverse portrays the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the weight, purity, and monetary denomination. This is the first year that the Next Generation series display the King Charles III effigy.

All of The Next Generation coins display a mother and baby from an Australian Outback species. The background of both the obverse and reverse feature micro-engraved radial lines which provide added security,

This series also includes an unusual aspect, all of the coins are struck as Piedfort coins. This means that the coins, while the same diameter as Perth’s standard round silver coins of the same weight, will be double the thickness.
