Tariff headline stories are affecting the Equity Markets causing the Dow to have a 700 point swing today.
The news that moved the market was a story that if all doesn’t go well when President Trump and President Xi of China meet, President Trump indicated that he will impose additional tariffs. This headline isn’t sitting well with investors.
The price of Gold would normally react to such a headline especially with the wild swing in the Dow Industrial average today, but with a stronger dollar and weaker Euro, it too is off a bit and not reacting well to the trade tariff news.
I expect the selloff in Equities to continue in the Far East and we will be watching the Global Currency activity overnight to see if there is any impact on the U S Dollar and the price of Gold.
Enjoy the rest of the day.
